Sticky: Japan Needs Our Help and Prayers

On March 11, 2011, Japan was struck by an 8.9 magnitude earthquake that triggered a devastating tsunami and a nuclear crisis. Now facing the aftermath of these disastrous events, Japan needs all the help we can offer, no matter how small it may be.

Here’s a list of links to some ways in which we can help the relief and recovery efforts in Japan:

• Japanese Red Cross Society – if you wish to send your donations directly to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
• Network for Good – a list of humanitarian and nonprofit organizations that are accepting donations for emergency relief efforts in Japan.
• GlobalGiving – connects you to over 1,000 pre-screened grassroots charity projects around the world. It’s an efficient, transparent way to make an impact with your giving. It currently set up a fund that will support organizations providing relief and aid to victims in Japan.

Year-end babble: Notable anime OP/ED themes of 2009

My second year-end list of anime OP/ED themes which I thought were worth mentioning. I basically just compiled my seasonal list and re-ranked the songs altogether regardless of the season order (although some got bumped out of the list and some got added in).

La Corda d’Oro ~secondo passo~ [special episode #2]

“Second Movement” (special episode 2 of 2)

Note: There are some bits of (fangirl side comments) from me throughout the summary. :3

SUMMARY: While feeding some cats, Kanazawa-sensei (or Kanaya, as they call him) apologizes to Hino about Kira’s rude behavior to her. Hino says it’s all right. At ensemble practice, it’s just Fuyumi, Hihara and Shimizu who are present since Yunoki had to go abroad to get ready for school, Tsukimori will be running late because of a rescheduled lesson, and Tsuchiura had soccer practice. Kanaya is quite worried because they don’t have much time left for ensemble practice.

Extra: [book 1] Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit

Also known as Seirei no Moribito and Guardian of the Sacred Spirit

After finally getting around to reading, collating stuff from the novel + anime, and tweaking, here’s a little review of book 1, as promised. ^^

In this entry, I won’t be writing a detailed summary of the book since the story is pretty much the same as the anime adaptation (save for several anime-original episodes). I just included some of the story’s highlights and some of my notes/comments that I jotted down while reading the book. I also compared the book a bit with the anime adaptation by Production IG (yes, I re-watched the series while/after reading, too :3)…
