Hey there, welcome to Undercover! A place where I could share my fondness for anime, so this would basically be an anime blog with a hint of random thoughts here and there. Reviews of various stuff (like movies, books, etc.) may also appear once in a while.
Why “Undercover,” you ask? I’m not really that sure, lol, but I’m a fan of the mystery genre: spies, crime dramas, investigations and the like. So, I guess that’s part of the reason why the word “Undercover” appealed to me. I used to blog a few years ago. I wasn’t able to update often, as you can see in my personal site if you go there. I used to be active in making wallpapers and stuff that was usually Alias-related and celebrity/fandom-inclined (Alias was the TV series in which I used to have a fansite of. The series had already ended and that fansite is no longer updated).
So, what’s Undercover all about? As mentioned, this would mostly be an anime blog. The stuff I’d post here would mostly be anime overviews and first impressions while also having a few episode summaries of the new/most recent anime series that I’m currently watching. Also, please note that I don’t usually think *too* deeply about the stuff I watch and I tend to go on fangirl mode when writing, so you won’t be able to find much thought provoking or seriously-insightful-analysis-of-anime kind of posts here (though some posts like that do pop up here once in a while). Anyway, here’s a quick 411 of some of the categories :
- anime overviews – basically a preview of an anime series, probably can also be called a series introduction. A one-page general summary and review of a particular anime that caught my attention. It may be one that I’ve recently come across that has already finished airing or a new one that is ongoing that I’m currently watching. In short, it would consist of introduction to plot, main characters, and my general impression on the series. Note that it could also contain spoilers.
- episode summaries – a re-telling of the story with some screencaps of a particular episode in the anime that I’m currently watching. Summaries are usually done right after I watch the English-subbed episodes that are released (since I don’t speak, read or write Japanese). It may be a detailed account of the episode, a bulleted summary of it or just some of the highlights (depending on my level of laziness and spare time available, lol). It’s usual format is (1) episode summary, (2) impression, then (3) next episode preview. Note that not all of the series that I’m currently watching would have episode summaries since I only have a limited amount of spare time available to devote on anime blogging.
- random babbles – Basically, posts regarding whatever. This category also includes several random episode impressions or babbles on a certain episode in a currently airing anime that I’m watching with events that may have prompted me to either rant and/or rave about it, ranging from sharing my thoughts or merely fangirling about a character or series. ;P
- extras – something related to a particular anime series like cast interviews, magazine articles/scans, music, and the like.
- the other categories are relatively self-explanatory.
~ Updates may not be everyday, but I will post entries whenever I can (so far, weekly/monthly updates is the most convenient for me).
