Just a quick fangirl squee over a piece of good news… It’s official, Darker than Black season 2 is on its way!!! No word on the exact date yet, but it’s definitely coming (I’ll edit this post once I get the date).
Edit 1: (07/2009) According to Wiki, it’s set to air during the Fall 2009 season in October and will be entitled Darker than Black: Ryuusei no Gemini (Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor). ~Can’t wait!
Edit 2: (10/2009) According to wiki, DtB’s season 2 will be comprised of 12 episodes. In addition, there will be 4 OVAs that will be included in the DVDs. The timeline in the OVAs will be set between teh events of season 1 and 2, and will be a side story of Hei and Yin. More details can be found on this page at the official site (it’s in Japanese) and season 2’s wiki page.
I am SO watching and I’d definitely be blogging episode summaries of season 2 in its entirety (which may take a while, but I don’t really care xD). I can’t wait to see my precious Hei once again. Oh, happy day! ^_^
Here’s to hoping for more backstory on contractors and dolls, more kicka$$ fight scenes, a stronger Kirihara, more good stories, and of course more Hei!

I’m not a fan girl However I am a fan of this anime,and I do hope season 2 does the first season justice,Due to the fact we all know some anime’s should be left alone and not added to.However this one left way too many questions that I hope season 2 will answer.
1 of these questions would be, what happens if a contractor doesn’t fill their obeisance ?
another is will Hei show his obeisance which I believe to be his excessive eating.
and 3 will the pink hair girl be in it to fan girl over him lol.

With regard to Hei’s remuneration, I don’t think he has one as he isn’t technically a contractor. From what I understood from season 1, Hei’s ability was caused by his sister and not because he entered a contract, which is also why he and his sister have similar powers.
he doesnt have a remuneration when he was talking to havoc she even said it when they were in the room after e took her.it was a right before he started to feed havoc.. but his remuneration might be he has to eat a lot or that might be just because of the ability or all the stuff he has to do in his missions
@ ian: Yep, I agree. I don’t think Hei has any remuneration too (see my previous comment). He just naturally eats a lot, like he always does, as Havoc mentioned. ^^

@ ian: No backstory about how people become contractors and dolls yet. Hopefully, we’d get to know more about that on season 2, which is set to premiere in Japan on Oct 8.
u live in japan?? because i live in the US.. i dont think it will come out here right away ether if its gunna start in japan..
