A year of spying has already passed. Undercover is one year old! Woot! Time sure flies by quite quickly, no?
A little history is obligatory, I suppose. Heh, I’ve no idea how to go about writing this, so be forewarned… A boring recollection of events follows.

“Hey, why not try blogging anime too? It seems fun.” ~ Undercover was originally started at LiveJournal. It was when I had recently finished a bunch of anime series which I wanted to share my thoughts about. I’d also been reading a few anime blogs then, and I thought maybe I should try blogging anime too. It seems fun. Ah, t’was Spring 2007 – my fondness for anime has been rekindled mainly by Darker than Black (DtB), Lovely Complex (Love*Com) and Seirei no Moribito (SnM). I basically wrote overviews of those series and a few reviews of movies I’ve seen around that time. It was a boring June day and I had some spare time on my hands as work wasn’t so busy yet. So on June 2007, I wrote my first anime overview/review about Gakuen Alice, which I thouroughly had fun watching, followed by a few other series. I then decided to make my LJ more of a personal journal and deemed WordPress as a better home for my so-called anime blog. Thank goodness for the export/import function, I didn’t have to re-write my previous reviews! (too bad the comments got left out in LJ though)
Hence, I moved to WordPress on July 2007 and decided to try my hand at writing episode summaries. I started halfway through with Lovely Complex and Hayate no Gotoku!, I managed to finish Love*Com but had to drop HnG eventually. Around the days when final episodes were about a month or two away, I suddenly had the urge to write more episode summaries, particularly of DtB and SnM wherein the turning points and series of events made the fangirl in me feel like I just had to say something about it. ~LOL. So, I blogged about it more than halfway through until their series finales. I also came across several other anime blogs which I frequently follow (check out my blogroll on the right side). I’m more of a lurker but I do comment here and there once in a while about series that they blog about that I also watch. As a result, particularly around the Summer 2007 season when I started hopping around and commenting a bit in other blogs, I made several acquaintances in the anime blogosphere — through despair, bishies, special abilities, and a handful more.
Fall 2007 came and my anime season previews began. Since my Japanese language skill is nil, I watch subs. And since subs are unpredictable and randomly released, I wondered how I can save time and effort in writing first impressions. Inspired by psgels, I followed suit and wrote my first impressions in batches. Just like with Facebook, I also got talked into joining MAL and tried to remember all the anime I ever watched since I was a kid. Whew! For the rest of the Fall season, I stuck with writing episode summaries of Shion no Ou (which I’m still currently working on as I follow the subs). Winter 2007/2008 arrived and I failed to resist doing summaries of the live-action version of Honey and Clover. These two are what I’ve been writing mostly during this Spring 2008 season, aside from the occasional random babbles about manga, fangirling over some series and other random stuff. xDD More often than not, I’ve been on and off with blogging due to work taking most of my time and energy, but it seems I still manage to blog regularly over the weekends.

Um, so welcome to version 3.0! ~ Nothing much that’s new, same old layout, other than Zero gracing the header until December. Oh, and taking a leaf out of the legendary Hinano’s book, I figured I’d also post the previous headers I’ve made since I did exert some effort in making them anyway. xD
So what’s coming? I’m in the process of compiling the season preview for the Summer 2008 titles, which will be posted this weekend. I’ll be done with Honey and Clover summaries by this weekend as well. Once I finish blogging Shion no Ou, expect more series overviews and random babbles to come. I’ve also been thinking about doing some posts regarding OP/ED themes every season beginning with Spring 2008 and making a list out of it, but we’ll see how that goes. I’ll continue to update with weekly entries at the very least. Despite my busy work schedule, I don’t think I’ll be getting tired of blogging anytime soon. As long as I still enjoy doing it, I’m pretty much sticking with it. ![]()
Over the year, it’s been 114 posts, 39,400+ views, and 200+ comments. I know it’s not much, but I feel some sense of accomplishment nonetheless.
~Last, but certainly not the least, thank YOU for reading my babbles and for sharing your thoughts with me here in Undercover! ^_^
