Lately, I have been hearing much comparisons about the game and the anime adaptation as well as speculations about where and how far KyoAni will be taking it. I’ve also been wondering where Clannad is going story-wise. Being the spoiler spy that I am, I went to investigate. As they say, “Curiosity killed the cat.” If I’m the cat, I’m not completely dead yet but I think I now have only 4 lives left.
In my so-called investigation, I initially googled for the Clannad movie first with the lead that I might get an idea on the ending there. No luck. I then scooted over to reviews of the visual novel. Bingo. I found a nice, enjoyable, and pretty detailed game review from Hinano. I’m not really sensitive to spoilers so I don’t mind knowing ahead what will happen in future episodes, so I cheerfully read on. I had quite a few laughs here and there (especially the Sunohara x Sanae confusion! ~Lol). I was growing suspicious as I continued reading. She even wisely wrote her review on the Nagisa arc at the last part of her post. I ignored the flags that my mind was telling me to not continue on but I was really curious and, um, did I mention I was stubborn? Well, I was thinking to myself that it was really quite obvious from the start of the anime series that Nagisa and Tomoya will be ending up together, so that wouldn’t be a surprise at all, now would it? So, I kept on reading… reading… reading… EH?! What caught me off guard is the “after story.” O_O I was almost screaming “Noooooooooo!!!” and feeling almost torn when I continued to stubbornly read on this after story. *Shock* I knew there’d be drama but I didn’t expect it to have that much drama. I hate sad ends, bad ends are even worse. T_T Apparently, if I understand it correctly, the after story has alternate endings as well (phew!), so this lifted my spirit quite a bit. I like the alternate part where Nagisa wakes up again, instead of succumbing to permanent sleep, and lives happily ever after with Tomoya and Ushio. What can I say, I do prefer happy endings after all (or at least properly written off ones).
Haha, this is what happens when a spoiler spy like me gets what I’ve been looking for but also gets more than I bargained for, biting off way more than I can chew. Orz. All I can say is that I seriously hope that the above-mentioned sad ending of the after story won’t be included in the anime. >_< I’m not going to reiterate here in detail what happens in that part of the after story. You can bravely (or foolishly) go to Hinano’s post and read it yourself. Aside from this, the other girls’ endings are also included in her review.
I learned my lesson, but I doubt I’ll stop reading spoilers anytime soon. Heh. I’ll probably be more wary though, or at least be more prepared when venturing in my spoiler quests. xD

Haha glad you enjoyed the review! Now you can see what I mean when I’m like O_O wtf every week when they start throwing Fuuko into random scenes and they’re on such a time constraint!
Haha, yeah, it would seem that KyoAni has a long way to go if they’d be taking further events of the game into consideration! I’m more curious now how they’d end it, wondering if they’d try to squeeze everything in or what.
Thanks for dropping by! =)
lol I remember seeing that post a long time ago…but refused to read it.

@Totali: Haha. Good job on resisting the urge to read it! I failed. >_<
Lol. I’ve been on Nano since last month, I think. I was just “undercover.” Ugh. Bad pun, I know. OMG, I hope Kotomi’s so-called sense of humor isn’t rubbing off on me! xD
