Episode 25: “Shake The Heart” (Kokoro o Yurashite)
Summary: Picking up from last episode, Hayate is at Isumi’s house. He is extremely uneasy and worried since Nagi blurted out last time that she would sell Hayate to Isumi for 150,000,000 yen. Seeing Hayate in distress, Isumi pushes him. Hayate is surprised by this. Isumi says Hayate did not look very cheerful and she didn’t know what to do. Hayate, touched by Isumi’s concern, puts on a bright face and says she cheered him up and is feeling better now, thinking that all he can do here now is do his best.
Over at Wataru’s shop, Maria went to see Nagi. Maria is telling her off for doing things on a whim and selling Hayate on impulse. Maria says she hopes Hayate isn’t crying right now since if you think about it, what Nagi did was no different from his parents if nagi did sell him for 150,000,000 yen. This makes Nagi realize that she really did something horrible to Hayate this time and starts crying, saying that at this rate, Hayate must really hate her now. Saki tells Nagi not to cry, saying that Wataru will do something about it. Wataru then says he’ll do his best and leaves the shop with Maria. Wataru asks Maria how they are going to brink Hayate back. Maria says it’s easy, Hayate must be thinking Nagi hates him now so they just have to tell him that Nagi is crying and wants him to come back. Wataru is worried about how Isumi would feel about that. Maria says that from her hunch, she doesn’t think Isumi is that attached to Hayate anyway. Back in the shop, Saki assures Nagi that everything will be fine and that Maria and Wataru will do their best. Nagi is still worried that Hayate probably hates her now. Then, someone else suddenly speaks and suggests why don’t they test the love. The one who spoke was Nagi’s relative, Gilbert (who appeared previously in episode 11), a candidate for heir to the Sanzenin estate. He suggests to fake a kidnapping wherein Hayate may or may not come. Saki and Nagi think it’s a ridiculous idea but Gilbert says Nagi is a chicken and this makes Nagi angry so she accepted the challenge.
Meanwhile, Maria and Wataru are now at Isumi’s. Maria is talking to Hayate telling him that there will be no end if Hayate would take seriously every whimsical thing that Nagi says, adding that she thinks Hayate still wants to come back since he left things behind with Nagi and the mansion. Hayate thinks about the memories. Back to Gilbert, Nagi and Saki are with him in an underground place where he shows them a fighting robot that he proposes they use to fight Hayate. Nagi asks what he plans to do if Hayate gets hurt. Gilbert says not to worry since the scientist who made it is a genius and it’s a human friendly robot. Scene shifts to Makimura and robot Eight… Apparently, Makimura made the robot using Eight’s old memory chip wherein he was full of vengeance against Hayate and Nagi but she made a control regulation chip to make the robot’s anger controllable. Unfortunately, Makimura forgot to install the control chip. Back in the underground, Sakuya is also there. It turns out that Gilbert and Sakuya were siblings and they did’nt know until now. It seems they have different mothers and Gilbert’s existence was kept hidden. Sakuya asks why Nagi is faking a kidnapping. Nagi says Hayate was cheating on her with Isumi and that Hayate said he has fun with Sakuya too. Sakuya confirms that she does have fun with Hayate… from smacking each other after each gag they tell. This is a shock to Nagi who realizes her mistake. Sakuya mocks her saying she has a dirty mind, interpreting “fun” in a different way, adding that Hayate had done nothing wrong to be accused off and yet got sold off. This makes Nagi feel even worse since she now knows how wrong she was. Just then, the robot starts moving on its own, with Eight’s memory of having vengeance over the twin-tailed blonde (Nagi) and the butler. It starts to threaten Nagi, but Sakuya cleverly removes Nagi’s pigtails and the robot doesn’t recognize Nagi without it.
Saki says she’s glad this didn’t turn to a big mess then proceeds to call Wataru to tell them where they are since they might be worried. However, a misunderstanding happens again when Wataru hears the robot threatening Nagi over the phone. Same thing happens when Sakuya calls Wataru. After hearing this, Hayate runs off to save Nagi. Back underground, Nagi challenges the robot, then realizes that Hayate won”t probably come after all the awful things she said to him. At the last moment, she yells out Hayate’s name. As if on cue, Hayate saves her in the nick of time saying that he came because Nagi called for him. This makes Nagi happy. Hayate asks what this kidnapping is about. Sakuya blurts out that Gilbert kidnapped her for the sake of the Sanzenin estate. Gilbert, sad that Sakuya told them this, then says he might as well do it and attacks Nagi and Hayate. Hayate dodges this easily then says out loud that anyone who wants the Sanzenin’s estate will have to defeat him before they can even get to Nagi. The robot attacks Hayate but he easily gets away from it, and he came prepared with a big gun and defeats Gilbert.
Back at Isumi’s, as much as she wants to, Nagi couldn’t bring herself to apologize to Hayate out of embarrassment. Hayate then says that he just noticed that he changed the conditions to inheriting the estate so staying with Nagi now would be much more dangerous. Now, he’s Isumi’s butler but since he skipped out on work to save Nagi, he probably would be fired from that position now. He says that if that’s the case, then it would mean that he’d be lost in the streets again with a debt of 150,000,000 yen on him then wonders if there’s a cute girl who would find him a new job. Nagi then blushingly asks him if he would like to be her butler again. Hayate cheerfully agrees. Maria then asks Isumi if that’s alright with her. Isumi responds with a smile that it’s not good to buy and sell people with money, then adds that she thinks Nagi and Hayate goes well together.~ end of episode
My Impression: I liked the beginning with Hayate counting tatami threads, that was pretty funny, and Isumi was really cute trying to cheer up Hayate. Maria can easily control the Sanzenin SPs with just one look! Haha. Maria can be a bit scary sometimes when she’s all serious. Poor Maria has to act like the responsible parent all the time watching over Nagi and company. I wonder if Isumi will ever know that Wataru likes her?
Next episode: It’s going to be a special episode. Nishisawa-san (hamster girl) returns. Hayate seems to have had an amnesia and gets into some sort of trouble and it seems he will be forced into crossdressing yet again.
